MEASURING POST PRODUCTION QUALITY IN POT ROSES

Authors:   M.H. Williams, L. Andersen, K. Borch, L. Høyer
DOI:   10.17660/ActaHortic.1996.424.33
Abstract:
In this study, several criteria have been selected which together form a measurement of the post-production quality of a potted rose, these criteria form the basis of a standard test. Based on this standard test, a plant is categorized as having an acceptable post production life for the consumer and therefore it is given a Parade® rose quality label, or it is failed. The standard test allows comparisons between cultivars, growing methods and to assess new cultivars as potential stock for breeding programs.
