Abstract: Schizophyllan (SPG) is a highly viscous polysaccharide produced by shaking culture or tank culture of Schizophyllum commune. SPG is a simple glucan having repeated unit composed of three ß-1, 3-linked glucopyranose residues, to one of which is attached a single D-glucopyranose residue through ß-l, 6-linkage. Various kinds of biological activity of SPG will be reported here.
