Abstract: Pleurotus ostreatus is a type of mushroom which has long been a source of nutrition in our country, but the history of its artificial cultivation is relatively short. The conventional method of using bed log was employed in farming in mountain villages, and its production was a small quantity. Around 1964, the method of cultivation using sawdust was developed and various containers began to be used for the cultivation in addition to the former bed log method of cultivation. This method enabled the cultivation not only in farming in mountain villages but also in cities. However, from the technical stand point, there still remains some problems to be solved.
