Abstract:

In May of 1968, Dean R.E. Larson and Director M.A. Farrell appointed the authors of this publication as a special College of Agriculture committee to develop a facility (building and equipment) in which the modern technologies of engineering, biology, and economics would be combined to demonstrate how mushrooms can be produced efficiently. The proposed facility would also serve as an instrument for testing new methods and concepts of mushroom production and as a source of data for economic analyses.
