Title: Influence of Extracts from Fruit-Bodies of Agaricus bisporus and Some other Hymenomycetes upon Pinhead Initiation in Marasmius Species
Author: T. Urayama

Abstract:

The author showed that the C:N (sucrose:peptone) ratio of the culture media was regulative for the pinhead initiation of Psilocybe panaeoliformis (2) and, if the ratio was unsuitable, a contamination of some bacteria to the culture also stimulated the pinhead initiation. While stimulating effects of added fruit-body pieces of some hymenomycetes on fructification of Pleurotus were shown by Eger(l). As this knowledge indicated that it was interesting to clarify more distinctly the mechanism of the stimulation in pinhead initiation, the present paper deals with the influence of extracts obtained from young or mature fruitbodies of some hymenomycetes upon pinhead initiation of Marasmius species.
