Abstract:

There has been a remarkable increase in the production of cultivated mushrooms throughout the world in recent years. In the United Kingdom this has resulted in a steady fall in the market price of fresh mushrooms. The influence of grading and marketing practices, advertising and publicity are discussed, with particular emphasis on the paramount virtue of quality of the mushrooms produced.
