Abstract: Manganese sulfate monohydrate (MnSO4, 250 μg/g equivalent Mn2+ based on dry substrate wt.) combined with commercial delayed release nutrient (SpawnMate IISE, 9% dry substrate wt.) increased mushroom (Pleurotus cornucopiae var. citrinopileatus, yellow basidioma) yield by 57% compared to non-supplemented substrate without added MnSO4. SpawnMate IISE alone increased yield by 28.6%, while the addition of MnSO4 to the supplement increased yield an additional 28.4%. Micromax, a micronutrient source containing Mn2+ (added at 250 μg/g Mn2+ equivalent) and other micronutrients, was not as effective in stimulating yield (+9.7%) compared to MnSO4. Mineral composition of oyster mushrooms (second flush) from substrate supplemented with delayed release nutrient with and without additional micronutrients showed reduced sodium content and increased boron content in mushrooms harvested from substrate containing added micronutrients. Iron and copper also were slightly higher in mushrooms harvested from micronutrient-supplemented substrate.
