Abstract: H2O2 generation with glucose oxidase was evaluated as a method of controlling Trichoderma infections during the cultivation of Pleurotus ostreatus on wheat straw. The tolerance of Pleurotus ostreatus mycelial cultures towards glucose oxidase was compared to that of germinating spores of the pathogen, Trichoderma. Dosages of 50 to 100 units glucose oxidase g-1 dry weight wheat straw were sufficient to inhibit Trichoderma spp. spore germination, while growth of Pleurotus mycelium was not seriously affected.
