Abstract: Spores of a compost colonising isolate of T. harzianum were incorporated into traditional and experimental composts at three rates of inoculation. Mushroom yields were reduced in three out of 12 composts examined but T. harzianum propagules were isolated from all composts at the highest level of inoculation. Ten T. harzianum isolates were also screened for their ability to colonise compost. Four isolates were more aggressive than the remaining six and included Th2 and Th3 molecular types.
