Abstract: A catalogue of the fungal diseases of mushroom cultivation from Castilla-La Mancha (Spain) is shown. The magnitude and persistence of the most important pathogenic problems and variations in pathologen behavior are commented on, related to the changes caused by the introduction of new copying technologies, compost manufacture, fungicides used , etc. After several years of precarious control over Verticillium fungicola by the massive use of prochloraz, an assessment of its current incidence is presented. A total of 11,812 diseased mushrooms were studied from 17 crops grown on five farms. 67.7% of those had the typical symptoms of dry bubble. The results showed that V. fungicola was present in all the studied crops, that 74.3% of the diseased mushrooms were infected by this pathogen and that an exponential increase of the disease was observed throughout the duration of the crops.
