Title: Biocontrol of bacterial blotch of the cultivated mushroom with lytic phages: Some practical considerations
Authors: P. Munsch and J.M. Olivier

Abstract:

The efficiency of the bacteriophage TO 1 (formerly PI, Guillaumes et al 1988) to control mushroom bacterial blotch ranged from eight experiments from 30 to 80% Antagonistic action of T0 1 against different bacterial strams, associations of different phages or comparison of different application schedules have been studied at the same time as the compatibility of TO 1 with different insecticides or fungicides The use of TO 1 is compatible with most of the registered pesticides Phenohcs could be used to neutralize the bacteriophages or the bactena aber each crop to limit the occurrence of resistances Some strains of P tolaasii naturally resistant to the phage were recently discovered and consequences are discussed.
