Title: Identification of Lentinula edodes by random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers
Authors: M. Sunagawa, H. Neda and K. Miyazaki

Abstract:

An attempt was made to identify 11 strains of Lentinula edodes (Berk) Pegler [= Lentinus edodes (Berk) Sing] from different areas using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers RAPD bands of 11 strains were observed by electrophoresis in agarose gel Identification among strains was difficult for RAPD pattems with All primer However, L edodes could be identified among 11 strains with the combination of 3 primers (A 04, 09 and 16) It is suggested that RAPD markers are useful tools for the identification of L edodes.
