Title: Some Studies on the Cultivation of Chinese-Mushroom (Volvariella volvacea (Fr.) Singer) on Sugarcane Industrial By-Products
Authors: S.M. Khan, R. Haq and M.A. Dogar

Abstract:

Straw/chinese mushroom (Volvariella volvacea) strain PK101 was cultivated on lignocellulosic by-products of sugar industry, alone and blended with cotton waste and rice straw. The highest yield was obtained on bagasse blended with cotton waste 1:1 ratio whereas minimum yield was obtained on leaves of sugarcane alone. The chemical analysis of fruiting bodies gave 23.44 to 38.62 percent protein from different substrates.
