Abstract: Pleurotus ostreatoroseus Sing is a Brazilian species, well distributed along the Atlantic rain forest on decaying wood. The rose coloured fruitbody has a fleshy texture, good flavour, measures from 5 to 10 mm diameter and has a good market acceptance. It was cultivated on sugar cane-bagasse and the productivity was 0.49% (dry weight of Pleurotus ostreatoroseus/dry weight of substrate). During the cultivation, temperature varied from 3.6 to 31.20C and the relative humidity from 54 to 100%.
