Abstract: Concanavalin A (Con A)-binding glycoproteins of the mushroom Agrocybe aegerita were studied in homokaryotic sibhngs from a wild strain and in the dikaryotic strains resulting from their anastomosis. The expression of haploid nuclei was demonstrated to become significantly asymmetric when they are paired in dikaryons and to depend on the interactions between the genotypes of both nuclei. Another noticeable result is that glycoproteins specific to each dikaryotic strain were identified. The relationship between the dissymmetry observed in the survival capacity of the two haploid nuclei of a dikaryon after its dedikaryotization and the asymmetric expression level existing between the two nuclei was examined.
