Abstract: The wood blewit (Lepista nuda, synonyms: Tricholoma nudum and Rhodopaxillus nudus) is an edible mushroom of excellent taste (SVRCEK 1978). Attempts to cultivate this species began as early as 1898 (VAANDRAAGER and VESCHER 1981). However, over the years yield remained very low and therefore breeding work was started in Horst in 1981.
