Abstract: It would be just like a dream if every in vitro mycelium of more than one thousand natural mushroom strains would result in a beautiful generous fructification with fruit-bodies and sporulation. Unfortunately we could obtain this only with some genera as Collybia, Pholiota, Pleurotus, Schizophyllum and a few other fleshy fungi forming mini-fruit-bodies on agar, or normal fruit-bodies on cellulose-containing macro-pure culture. Although we establish that most mushroom domestications require a healthy macro-pure culture or spawn transinoculated on a well prepared semi-selective medium, and finaly a perfect ecological microclimatisation for fruitbody-initiation. In this gamma we find Psalliota, Lentinus, Stropharia, Volvariella, Lepiota, Auricularia, Coprinus, Tricholoma, etc., growing on a dead selective medium; and Tuber, Boletus, Cantharellus and some Morchella's on a living selective medium, namely tree roots. Would it not be useful to bring some clearness into origin and evolution of the most important mushroom domestications and their growing problems until today?
