Abstract: Phenotypically asymmetric dikaryotization was known in reciprocal crosses between compatible monokaryotic strains of Collybia velutipes and Lentinus edodes (Kinugawa and Hattori, 1974; Nishibori and Kinugawa, 1975; Kinugawa and Inoue, 1977), and the eccentric recovery of the original nuclear types were reported in several basidiomycetes (Harder, 1927; Aschan, 1952; Fries and Aschan, 1952; Aschan-Aberg, 1960, Kerruish and Da Costa, 1963; Takemaru, 1964; Kinugawa, 1977). These two phenomena seemed to have some connection through cytoplasmic involvement in the process. In this experiment, the eccentric recovery of nuclear components by chemical dedikaryotization from the particular reciprocal dikaryons and the alteration of the nature of monokaryons affecting processes of reciprocal crossing were studied.
