Abstract: The mine of the Butler County Mushroom Farm Inc. has a continuous main tunnel in the shape of a horse shoe from which anastomosing galleries extend in an interlocking network comprising 24 miles of tunnel. Approximately half of this space is used for the mushroom growing operation, the other half being used to condition the air that is blown through three large fans twelve feet in diameter to ventilate the mushroom beds.
