Title: A Description of Peach Native Populations from Spain
Authors: M.L. Badenes, D.J. Werner, J. Martinez-Calvo and G. Llacer
Abstract:
A description of the characteristics of selected clones originating from Spanish native populations, including 'Marujas,' 'Jeronimos,' 'Calabaceros,' 'Calandas' and 'Cofrentes,' is presented. General characteristics of other native populations that have remained unselected also are described. Native populations from Spain may be an excellent germplasm source for improving and broadening the genetic base of North American peaches.
