Authors: G.D. Oberle and R.C. Moore
Citation
Abstract:
Peach growers in the eastern
United States have suffered serious
crop losses during recent seasons
because of frosts and freezes during
the blossoming period.
In 1949 and
1950 damage ranging from moderate
to severe occurred in many orchards
located in the area between
Georgia and northern Virginia.
The
Virginia peach crop in 1950 was reduced
to less than 50 per cent of the
previous year and states lying south
of Virginia reported almost a complete
loss of crop.
