The Pacific Coast and Rocky Mountain
states produce over 75 million
bushels of apples annually, or about
46% of the U.S. crop.
As reported by
the USDA Statistical Reporting Service,
seven states in the west are commercial
apple-producing states, and
seven varieties account for 97% of
western apple production.
