Title: Suncling Peach
Author: APS
Citation
Abstract:
'Suncling', a new clingstone peach, has just been introduced by Stanley Johnston and James Moulton, of the Mich. Agr. Exp. Station. It is a cross of PI 35201 x N.J. 196, made by the N.J. Agr. Exp. Station in 1951. 'Suncling', grown from seed and selected in Michigan, matures 10 to 12 days before 'Elberta'. Fruit buds are very hardy and flowers are resistant to frost. Fruit is medium-large and nearly round. Flesh is yellow, fine-textured, and very firm. Pit is small and clings. Suncling is very good for both commercial canning and baby food.
