Abstract:
Among the different weed management treatments, the weed control efficiency during the entire crop growth period was higher with weed free check (100%) followed by three sprays of post-emergent glyphosate at 3 kg a.i./ha at 90 days interval (ranging from 66.86–88.68%), pre-emergent application of oxyfluorfen at 1.0 kg a.i./ha + two sprays of post-emergent application of paraquat at 2.0 kg a.i./ha at 90 and 180 days (63.50 to 88.23%) and pre-emergent application of oxyfluorfen at 1.0 kg a.i./ha + one spray of glyphosate at 3 kg a.i./ha after 90 days (62.62–83.99%). Higher number of bunches (36.17/vine) were recorded with weed free check followed by three sprays of post-emergent glyphosate at 3 kg a.i./ha at 90 days interval (35.17/vine) and pre-emergent application of atrazine at 2.0 kg a.i./ha + one spray of glyphosate at 3 kg a.i./ha after 90 days (33.83/vine) and were statistically on par with each other. Bunch weight was significantly increased by weed management treatments. Maximum bunch weight (280.83 g) was recorded with pre-emergent application of oxyfluorfen at 1.0 kg a.i./ha + one spray of glyphosate at 3 kg a.i./ha after 90 days followed by pre-emergent application of diuron at 2.0 kg a.i./ha + one spray of glyphosate at 3 kg a.i./ha after 90 days (270.33 g) and pre-emergent application of oxyfluorfen at 1.0 kg a.i./ha + two sprays of post-emergent application of paraquat at 2.0 kg a.i./ha at 90 and 180 days (269.33 g) and these treatments were statistically on par with each other and significantly superior over rest of the treatments. Higher yield per vine (9.25 kg/vine) was recorded with weed free check followed by three sprays of post-emergent glyphosate at 3 kg a.i./ha at 90 days interval (8.88 kg/vine) and pre-emergent application of oxyfluorfen at 1.0 kg a.i./ha + one spray of glyphosate at 3 kg a.i./ha after 90 days (8.54 kg/vine) and was statistically on par with each other. Similar trend was observed with regard to yield per hectare.
