CONTROL OF CANE DISEASES IN RASPBERRIES |

| Abstract:
Our main cultivar 'Tulameen' is severely damaged by cane diseases. In the last eight years we have done many trials for chemical control of this diseases. The results are summarized in this paper. The fungicides Switch (a.i. cyprodinil + fludioxonil) and Teldor (a.i. fenhexamid) controlled cane botrytis effectively, if they were applicated shortly before harvest and during the harvest. Bardos (a.i. difenoconazol) and Harvesan (a.i. flusilazol + carbendazim) were effective against cane blight. Spur blight can be controlled with Bardos, Switch and Signum (a.i. boscalid + pyraclostrobin), if they are applied before ('Glen Ample') and after harvest ('Tulameen'). The fungicides were efficient only, if they completly covered the new canes down to the ground. Also, the number of primocanes must be reduced in an early stage and air-supported sprayers used. After harvest the floricanes did not influence the occurrance of spur blight and cane botrytis. So they can be left in the orchard to support the primocanes until their leaf fall. | |
