Abstract:
The objective of this study was to screen different radish cultivars that could be suitable for spring and fall production in Beijing area. Five quality characteristics (reduced sugar, ascorbic acid, protein, soluble sugar and dry weight) of 33 radish cultivar were evaluated. The subordinate function of fuzzy mathematics analysis was used to evaluate the above five quality indices. The results showed that ‘Lu 1’, ‘Weixianqing’, and ‘Jiaoshudaqing’ were better than the traditional cultivar of Xinlimei, which were all suitable for fresh eating. The dry weight of ‘Jiaoshudaqing’, ‘Lu 1’, ‘Xinlimei’, ‘Teda 791’, and ‘Weixianqing’ were higher than the others. The ascorbic acid content of ‘Jiaoshudaqing’, ‘Bai’, ‘Lu 1’, and ‘Cuilvshuiguo’ were higher than other cultivars. Five radish cultivar, ‘Banyedahongpao’, ‘Weixianqing’, ‘Mantanghong’, ‘Shuizhedagen’, and ‘Xiaqiumeinong’ (in descending order), had the highest reduced sugar content. Four cultivars, ‘Xinlimei’, ‘Lu 1’, ‘Weixianqing’ and ‘Jiaoshudaqing’, in descending order, were found to have the highest protein content.
