Abstract:
Fruit quality is a complex trait.
Many attributes must be analyzed to determine the variation of fruit quality.
The correlation among quality parameters such as color, firmness, weight, diameter, volume, pigments, dry matter, soluble solids and titratable acidity, of apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) fruit were studied for two extra-early ripening cultivars, Rares and Valeria.
The correlation coefficients and the polynomial regression over time of each of these quality parameters were computed and plotted, and the equation of regression displayed.
The correlation of the quality parameters is highly significant in both cultivars.
The strongest correlations were found among physical attributes such as weight, diameter, volume; a*, h0, C*, carotenoids pigments, followed by a weaker correlation of the soluble solids, titratable acidity and firmness.
