ISHS Acta Horticulturae 711: V International Symposium on Artificial Lighting in Horticulture

DETECTION OF THE UTILISATION RATE OF ARTIFICIAL LIGHT IN GREENHOUSES

Author:   N.E. Andersson
Keywords:   Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, light use efficiency
DOI:   10.17660/ActaHortic.2006.711.20
Abstract:
In two experiments, one conducted in the spring and one in the autumn, change in accumulated dry weight was recorded for plants grown with and without artificial lighting. The light use efficiency (LUE) was calculated based on the light sum between two harvests. The acclimatization to decreasing and increasing natural light intensities could be determined by the change in rate of dry weight build-up or by changes in LUE. The acclimatization seems to be related to maximum light intensities over a period.
