Abstract:
Severe symptoms similar to the full blossom disease have been observed in currants at seven locations in the Czech Republic in 1998-1999. The disease occurred in red currant ‘Heinemann’s Rote Spätlese’, ‘Jonkheer van Tets’, ‘Holandský’, ‘Losan’, ‘Rubigo’, ‘Vitan’ and numerous new bred cultivars. Firstly, it has been recorded in white currant ‘Blanka’, ‘Meridián’ and ‘Primus’.

This article is dedicated to the memory of Dr. D. Rakús (1939-1996).
