ISHS Acta Horticulturae 222: Symposium on the Fertilization of Vegetables under Protected Cultivation

THE USE OF TRIAMIDE PHOSPHORYL (TAP) AS NP FERTILIZER FOR NITRATE LEVEL CONTROL IN LETTUCE, SPINACH AND TOMATO TRANSPLANTS

Authors:   A. Beresniewicz, K. Dudek, O. Nowosielski
Abstract:
Triamide phosphoryl PO (NH2)3 (TAP) is a compound with covalent PN bonds and very high N- and P contents: 44.2 % N and 32.6 % P. It is as good a N source for plants as ammonium nitrate, giving rise at to the same N level to slightly darker leaves. The plants grown with TAP contained at maturity 10 times less NO3 than did plants grown with ammonium nitrate. It seems the nitrogen applied in the form of TAP is absorbed by plants in the ammonium form or in a molecular form.
