| Abstract:
Lettuce varieties were grown on non-contaminated soils in commercial glasshouses in different periods of the year. Heads of the various cultivars were collected and analysed for cadmium. The results showed that location affects the average cadmium content of the lettuce, but that the variety is also of importance. The cadmium contents of the cultivars with the lowest and highest cadmium contents differed by a factor of 1.5 to 2. | |
