ISHS Acta Horticulturae 222: Symposium on the Fertilization of Vegetables under Protected Cultivation

THE EFFECT OF PLANT POWER APPLICATIONS ON THE YIELD OF EARLY TOMATOES

Author:   O. Gezerel
Abstract:
Research was carried out on Dario Hybrid tomatoes cultivated in plastic hothouses. Young plants were transplanted in plastic bags to soil that had received 200 kg N per ha as ammonium nitrate. The plants were separated into two blocks, 0.1 % Plant Power solution (containing 0.3 % Zn and Cu) was sprayed onto the plants when they had formed two leaves. After transplanting (i.e. when the plants had reached a height of 10 cm) a second application of 0.5 % Plant Power was made. The application of Plant Power was found to significantly increase yield and fruit weight.
